This the first in a series of interviews with members of the Kentico community. We're starting with Kentico Community Leaders and MVPs, but we plan to include Kentico employees, partners, and customers in the future.

So, to kick things off we would like to introduce you to one of 2025's Kentico Community Leaders - Danny Paul van Iersel.

We prepared a series of questions for Danny Paul to get to know him, his background in the DXP world, and how he was introduced to Kentico.

Where do you work and what's your current job title?

I work at Blastic [a Kentico Silver partner located in Belgium and the Netherlands]. My job title is “Senior Technical Lead”, basically an all round knowledgebase.

What's your background in the digital marketing, DX, DXP, CMS world?

I started my career on a job that created their own CMS system, moved around with other jobs and started working at Blastic. We work with many different DXP nowadays and always try to adjust to fit our customer needs.

Every environment is different and every customer is different. Some customers have a big complex infrastructure and others just want a website to show to their clients.

How were you introduced to Kentico?

We have had several clients that where running on Kentico. We have taken over the maintenance for them. Bit by bit I dived deeper in the Kentico world and started to gather more and more of the capabilities to help out the customers.

What's something valuable you can share that people might not know about Xperience by Kentico?

Kentico is very adjustable (that is something most people will know), but with some investment, many ideas people have can be accomplished and can work excellent with the Kentico platform.

You need a partner who thinks with you to solve your needs. A small investment can lead to a better harmonized way of working between your marketeers and the intentional end goal.

What interests you most about Xperience by Kentico?

There is no perfect world, but the way Kentico is developing awesome features that are really relevant to end users (also for developers to implement it), are a way to move companies to the future.

It is important that companies that use Kentico are aware of changes or new features. Some companies may have their own way to keep track of what is changing, but it truly help a lot if you have a partner that also knows your needs and can motivate and inform you on new features that are essential for you.

What would you like to see more of in the Kentico community?

As a Community Leader, I show a lot of great features about what Kentico can do for you. It would be great to have some feedback to see if the topics are helpful.

It would also be great to know successes of others and how we as the community can profit from them to make Kentico a more stable method across implementations.

When you're done with work how do you relax and spend your free time?

I have a loving and supporting wife. She helps me get detached from work. Without her I would probably be overloaded with my work and would keep working. We love to go to the movies, reading novels (mostly fantasy or thrillers, currently into the Sherlock Holmes novels).
