Are you new to digital marketing? Do you ever find yourself on a call where everyone knows all the lingo and you feel lost and overwhelmed trying to keep up based on context clues or someone kind enough to define an acronym?
Thankfully there are glossaries available, like this one from Semrush, making it easy for you to quickly learn a term you heard or refresh yourself when a definition is fuzzy in your mind.
Maybe you're a new software developer and you've had a similar experience with some senior architects throwing around terms like higher-order function and you think ... wait, what? 😕
Don't worry, there are glossaries for you too, like this one from MDN or another from the U.S. FDA!
Ok, but what about this audience - the Kentico community? Are there glossaries for us, our team members, clients and stakeholders, or anyone Kentico-adjacent?
Kentico LexiK
For terms that are relevant to Kentico but aren't necessarily covering the details of Xperience by Kentico as a product, we have Kentico's LexiK.
Lexik serves as a comprehensive glossary of key terms relevant to marketers, developers, and anyone engaged in content management and digital marketing. It provides clear, concise definitions of industry terms with a special focus on Kentico.
Who will LexiK be useful to? Anyone working for a Kentico partner or customer that wants to make sure they understand all the terms they might see in our marketing materials should check it out. Additionally, people speaking about an Xperience solution at a high level will benefit from LexiK.
Maybe this includes you! For example, do you know the difference between marketing operations and marketing automation?
Xperience by Kentico documentation glossary
If you want to zoom in from that high-level digital marketing perspective and focus more on terminology used in reference to an Xperience by Kentico solution and all of its features then you'll want to refer to our Xperience documentation glossary.
For teams working on an Xperience by Kentico project this glossary will help make sure everyone uses the same words to refer to aspects of the product and also know exactly what those words mean.
For example, Xperience by Kentico doesn't have Page types or Page attachments like Kentico Xperience 13 did, instead it has Content types and Content item assets.
Use the glossary when onboarding new team members that might be familiar with other CMS or DXP products or older versions of Kentico but don't have familiarity with Xperience by Kentico.
Wrap up
