From my experience keeping XbyK projects up-to-date is a relatively minor task in terms of dev team effort. Except for the cases when you need to deal with breaking changes, of course. And the majority of the time is actually spent not on applying the upgrade, but on regression testing that you have to do afterwards.

Interested to hear if everyone actually runs a full regression test after XbyK package updates? Do you automate these tests?

These e2e tests for the Kentico Community Portal run with every PR and validate that the membership experience here works correctly. It has saved me from breaking login/registration a handful of times - not from Xperience updates but from my own changes.

I always wanted to add more but the I couldn't justify the time. However, with AI and tools like Playwright test agents it's only a matter of time before I have a full suite of tests to guard against any regressions.

E2E tests are where all the value is with agentic AI software development and especially Xperience by Kentico projects... and they should be even easier to setup and run in .NET 10.
